Six towers planned for Gold Coast marina

Caspex Properties Australia has lodged a development application with the Gold Coast City Council to build a six tower complex at The Marina Runaway Bay.

The project will feature a mixture of residential and commercial buildings with up to six towers spread across the five-precinct site with some reaching 16-storeys. Caspex has owned the site since 1995 and the existing building was built in 1978.

The Marina may offer 1650 bedrooms across its six towers.

GCCC planning boss Cameron Caldwell maintains said, “I have raised some issues I have with the project, which include the impact on traffic and the presentation of the building and how it would interface with existing infrastructure.”

The project is expected to go before the Gold Coast City Council’s planning committee by November.
