Base Backpackers sold to Nomads Adventure for undisclosed sum
Nomads Adventure Co and the Bunning family has acquired the RTG Group shareholding, and will take over Base Backpackers.
Financial details on the transaction have not yet been revealed and accomnews has approached all parties for comment so check back for updates.
The acquisition includes seven Australian and seven New Zealand Base Hostels as well as their adjoining bars, two of which are the Scary Canary bar in Sydney and the Down Under bar in Brisbane.
There are 27 properties included in the deal along with several popular services such as Nomads Fraser Island tours, Mojo Surf and Base Magnetic Island full moon packages.
According to a statement published by Nomads Adventure Co, the brands will continue to “operate as business as usual as we work through this exciting new venture together”.
“Directors Daniel and Michael and the team at Nomads and Base are looking forward to working with our Industry partners and continuing to create unique experiences for our staff, Industry partners and our traveling guests.”
