Perth to get new Avani hotel

The West Australian government is to invest $110 million to help build the new precinct adjacent to Perth Arena, including a 250-room hotel complex.

The 4½ star, 15-storey hotel will have 250 rooms and be part of the Avani brand and built by Thai-based Minor International PCL. The Milligan Street precinct will feature two towers — one the hotel and the other a 200 serviced apartment building. The development will be complimented by cafes, shops, rooftop and alfresco bars and public spaces.

WA’s minister for planning John Day said Minor would bring $110 million in investment to the state and create up to 900 jobs.

Construction is due to start in late 2016 scheduled to be completed by late 2017.

Minor Hotel Group CEO Dillip Rajakarier said the company was excited to partner with the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority to build the two towers. “What is exciting for us is to bring our upscale 4½ star brand which is called Avani into Australia,” he said.
