Wyndham hotel group signs first property in Darwin

Wyndham Hotel Group will enter the Northern Territory after signing a franchise agreement for its first hotel in Darwin under the rapidly expanding Ramada brand.

Owned and managed by Zen Quarter Management, Ramada Suites Zen Quarter, Darwin, is located just a five-minute walk from the city’s central business district. The franchise agreement follows recent announcements from Wyndham Hotel Group for new Ramada resorts in Christchurch, Queenstown and Rotorua in New Zealand, as well as in Shoal Bay, New South Wales and Hope Harbour on the Gold Coast in Queensland, further cementing the company’s commitment to expanding its presence in the South Pacific.

“We are excited to introduce the Ramada brand to Darwin as we continue to expand Wyndham Hotel Group’s portfolio throughout South East Asia and the Pacific Rim,” said Barry Robinson, Wyndham Hotel Group’s president and managing director, South East Asia and Pacific Rim.

“We are committed to providing quality accommodations in key markets, especially in destinations like Darwin that are increasing in popularity among both international and domestic visitors.”

“We are pleased to be partnering with Wyndham Hotel Group, who have offered us a refreshing and flexible operational and marketing platform enabling us to firmly position Zen Quarter in the Darwin/NT accommodation arena with immediate opportunities for further development and growth under the Ramada brand,” said Michael Anthony, Director of Zen Quarter Management.

A laid-back multicultural city, Darwin is known as a melting pot of people and cultures; an entry to the Northern Territory’s stunning national parks and a gateway to Asia.
