Free in-app customer loyalty program launched by Clipp
The firm has moved to eradicate the need for customer reward punch cards altogether, announcing a new digital loyalty feature within its free iOS and Android apps.
The mobile payments app has grown over the last year, recently raising $3.5 million in investment and signing on close to 600 venues across Australia.
Clipp Loyalty gives the participating venue full control of the rewards and the minimum spend required before a customer can redeem the points. For example, every 200 points earned at Surry Hills establishment Shakespeare Hotel, gives users $10.00 off their tab.
Pubs and bars including Martin Place Bar, The Dove & Olive, Manly Wharf Hotel and The Local Taphouse, have adopted the free opt-in loyalty program.
Co-founder Greg Taylor said: “We launched with the basic principle that we could save people time and help pubs and bars provide their patrons with a simple, secure and frictionless payment system to pay their bar and restaurant tabs.
“Today we’re taking it one step further by rewarding people just for sharing a meal and drink with their friends and family at their local pubs and bars. We know consumers across the hospitality industry are highly motivated by promotions & value for money.
“Through our proprietary software system that integrates with a venue’s Point of Sale system, we can provide information on spending habits, product preferences and loyalty rewards, which results in a seamless experience for both customers and venues.”
