Elements of Byron welcomes general manager Leon Pink

The $100 million venture Elements of Byron Resort and Spa, a member of AccorHotels MGallery Collection, opens February 2016.

Leon Pink has been appointed to the general manager position. His hotel career spans more than twenty years, having managed luxury and boutique hotels and resorts in Europe, Australia, Asia and the Pacific.

Most recently he was general manager for Ayers Rock Resort’s hotel Sails in the Desert, playing a key role in the rejuvenation of the destination.

“Leon not only possesses the experience and knowledge essential for this role, his bigger picture includes a caring and insightful focus on humanity,” said Elements of Byron owner Peggy Flannery. “We are actually thrilled to have found him”.

“Today’s traveller seeks authentic nature based interactions within a local community,” he said. “They are looking for hosts with an environmental conscience and the latest technology, yet at the same time they want a genuine experience, one which cannot be duplicated elsewhere. Elements of Byron is set to deliver on all these levels.

“Settling my family into Bangalow and taking the helm at this incredible property makes me feel like the cat who got the cream. It is so much more fulfilling to be involved from the early stages, so I am fortunate to join an exceptional team well prior to opening. The team must, of course, grow and in the lead up to Christmas we will be busy recruiting. Employment opportunities can be found through the Elements of Byron website as well as regular recruiting channels.”
