Geo-target customers with last-minute, real-time offers via new app
Mobile payments app for the Australian hospitality industry Clipp has now launched Dash.
A new in-app feature that will allow venues to send exclusive, geo-targeted deals to customers, attempting to eradicate the biggest problem in hospitality – an empty venue.
Venue operators will be able to set a range of exclusive offers on food and drink based on time of day and minimum spend. Once the offer is set, the app automatically sends out the deal to thousands of customers around Australia with no further effort required from the venue.
According to a statement: “Some of the most prestigious venues have already signed up including Riley Street Garage, Transport, Stuffed Beaver, Holliava, Mrs Sippy, The Local Taphouse, The Bucket List, Belgian Beer Cafe (Melbourne), The London, The Flynn and more have opted to send out exclusive deals via Clipp to Aussies looking to save money on their food and drink bills.
“The hotel and airline industry have successfully done this type of ‘yield management’ style marketing for years, recognising that their pricing needs to reflect consumer demand throughout the week.
For example, between 11am – 3pm on a Monday, a venue could choose to give the first seven customers 40% off their bill on a minimum spend of $50 through Clipp. Once exhausted, the deal then drops down to 30% off to the next 10 who spend a minimum of $50 further dropping down to 20% to the next 15 who spend a minimum of $50.
“In essence, Clipp works like a matchmaking service, attracting customers to a venue during quiet times and maximising sales during peak hours. With integrations directly to a venue’s POS system, amalgamating Clipp to a venue’s POS system incurs no extra effort or set-up costs.
