Stamford Grand Adelaide set to host charity golf gala

The five-star Glenelg hotel is the official accommodation sponsor of the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Golf Tournament being held at The Grange Golf Club from February 18 to 21.

The Gala will be held in the hotel’s grand ballroom overlooking Glenelg Beach and feature a three-course dinner with fine wines and beers.

Stamford Grand Adelaide General Manager Russell Cool said the hotel was delighted to host the event, which was set to be a highlight on Adelaide’s social calendar this year.

“It will be a night to celebrate some of the world’s most elite female athletes while raising money for a charity with a very important cause, helping returned soldiers who have been psychologically or physically affected by their service,” Mr Cool said.

The event will be co-hosted by comedian Mick Molloy and darling of Australian television Kerri-Anne Kennerley, who will host talk-show style interviews with golf stars playing in the top tournament. Guests will also be treated to live music, an auction and a raffle with prizes.

The 2016 ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open is the flagship tournament on the ALPG Tour and is jointly sanctioned by the LPGA Tour and Ladies European Tour. It will attract some of the best women golfers in the world, including world number one Lydia Ko along with Australia’s top ranked players Minjee Lee and five-time national champion Karrie Webb.
