Easter and classic cars have Ramada Resort Phillip Island firing on all cylinders

Ramada Resort Phillip Island has reported record occupancy over the Labour Day weekend and upcoming Easter break.

All roads led to Phillip Island over the long weekend – especially for vintage auto enthusiasts – with the island’s Grand Prix Circuit hosting its largest ever Phillip Island Classic, featuring a record 540 vehicles from the past eight decades.

Between Friday afternoon and Sunday evening, the cars tore around the track in an expanded program of 58 races over 12 historic categories – with impressive numbers of touring cars, production sports cars and historic Formula Ford open wheelers.

Just 4.6km from the track, Ramada Phillip Island was full and Resort Manager Damien Larkin said many of the guests had come specifically for the event.

The event is a huge boost to the region, especially to premium accommodation providers like Ramada Resort Phillip Island. Events like this ensure plenty is happening at Phillip Island and are an opportunity for more people to explore the island and see how much it has to offer,” Mr Larkin said.

“Record numbers entered this year. The competitors bring their families and friends to Phillip Island too and it translates to a giant crowd.

“Visitors have been exploring all the island has to offer: the beautiful beaches, excellent surf, bushwalks, Grand Prix Circuit, the Koala Conservation Centre and the Penguin Parade,” Mr Larkin said.
