Staycations in demand at AccorHotels Sydney Olympic Park

With a mammoth week of major events set to take place at Sydney Olympic Park, such as the Sydney Royal Easter Show and Madonna concert, AccorHotels has forecast 100% occupancy at a number of its hotels.

From Thursday March 17, a week of entertainment is set to unfold at the park with a limited number of rooms still left to sell at the group’s Sydney Olympic Park properties. All hotels are expected to be at 100% occupancy on 19 and March 20 2016 due to the combination of events and demand for a weekend staycation.

Chief operating officer AccorHotels Pacific, Simon McGrath said: “The Sydney Royal Easter Show and Madonna concert are a major feature on the events calendar this year with our hotels reporting strong occupancy across the board.”

“While demand for hotel rooms will peak on Saturday night across both Sydney Olympic Park and Sydney CBD, we expect our hotel occupancies to pick up over the next few days so guests will need to get in quick as availability is limited,” concluded Simon.

Events at Sydney Olympic Park this week:

• Thursday March 17 – Sydney Royal Easter Show opens its doors at Sydney Showground. For the grand opening of the Sydney Royal Easter Show, Novotel Sydney Olympic Park will be hosting a month of chocolate with different concoctions on the menu to surprise chocolate lovers each week. On arrival, children and adults alike will be greeted by characters from Alice in Wonderland with the chance to have their picture taken with the White Rabbit (don’t be late).

• Friday March 18 – AKA St Patrick’s Day – Round 3 of the NRL draw sees The Bulldogs vs the Eels battle it out at ANZ Stadium. Join the rest of the fans in a pre-game beverage or beef and Guinness pie to celebrate St Patrick’s Day at the home of sport – The Brewery. Or enjoy a whiskey tasting at Bacar at Pullman Sydney Olympic Park.

• Saturday March 19 & 20 – We welcome Madonna to the park. This is the first time Madonna has performed in Australia for 23 years, an occasion to be celebrated. The Brewery is hosting their very own pre-show Madonna party with food and beverages and Madonna’s finest tunes.
