accomnews infographic brings fresh industry wisdom
The official 2016 Accommodation Industry Survey is complete! Thank you to all who participated, we have some fascinating insights to share in a variety of ways over the next few months and beyond.
Scroll down to check out our infographic based on some of the survey results gathered.
The four-week survey was conducted from mid-March to April 2016 among accomnews readers and subscribers who either own or operate accommodation properties within Australia. We had a total of 385 qualified respondents, which is a fantastic turn-out and the results have been hugely informative.
The survey showed that more than 60% of respondents are members of an industry association but 79% of B&Bs and 39% of independent hotels are not members of any association.
We also discovered in the survey that 37% of respondents are self-rated and 75% of all respondents have a rating of 3.5-star/3.5-self rating or above. Another statistic showed that more than 59% have been in their property for more than three years and 39% of respondents are looking to sell their property within the next three years..
Understandably, the key personal challenge for most people (62%) seems to be ‘optimising occupancy and profitability’, but marketing efforts and ‘keeping up with travel tech’ were also strong concerns shared by most provider groups.
This is just a tiny sample of the results from the survey, we will be publishing more in-depth analysis over the next few months as well as using this information to tailor our content and improve our service to you, our readers.
Thank you to everyone who took part in the survey, congratulations to those who won prizes, and thank you to our survey supporters ARAMA, Osprey, Commercial King Koil by AH Beard and Noosa Blue Resort.
