Luxury travel celebrated at Luxperience gala dinner and awards evening

Luxperience hosted its largest ever Gala Dinner and Awards event with 580 luminaries from the global luxury travel arena gathering last night at the recently renovated Four Points by Sheraton, Sydney, to recognise excellence in the industry… and to party!

The glittering event, presided over by the master of ceremonies, the effervescent style guru Henry Weinreich Roth, marked the culmination of Australasia’s leading luxury and experiential travel trade exhibition, Luxperience (18-21 September 2016) celebrating its fifth anniversary.

During the evening, the recipients of the Luxperience 2016 Awards were revealed. Designed to honour the development and promotion of some products the industry has to offer – both from the buyer and supplier sides – the awards were judged by a panel of travel industry experts.

The Inspiring Award recognised excellence in the planning and development of innovative products and services; the Meaningful Award paid tribute to those contributing to a greater understanding of history, heritage and culture, and the Connections Award recognised successful e-marketing campaigns within the luxury or high end experiential travel space. Luxperience also recognised an outstanding destination partner which has influenced the development of luxury and experiential tourism within their country or region. This year saw two new awards added this year to acknowledge the best Events By Luxperience buyer and supplier of the year.

The Luxperience 2016 Awards recipients were:

Connections: FBI Travel, Australia

Inspiring: Alkina Lodge, Great Ocean Road, Australia
Meaningful: Aqua Expeditions
Connections: Orange County Hotels & Resorts, India

Destination Award: Tourism New Zealand

Helen Logas, founder at Luxperience, commented: “The evening was a great celebration of our industry, with some of the world’s most impressive suppliers and an elite group of decision-makers in the global luxury and experiential travel arena in attendance. The finalists and winners of this year’s award are to be congratulated on their continued setting industry standards for inspiration, innovation and quality at the highest level.”

Luxperience 2017 is to be held in a new venue, Carriageworks from 17 – 20 September, 2017.
