The Star appoints general manager Capital Projects QLD
The Star Entertainment Group has announced the appointment of Ian Spackman as General Manager Capital Projects Queensland.
Ian will lead the ongoing property development of Jupiters Gold Coast and Treasury Brisbane, providing strategic oversight on current and future projects in a period of significant growth.
His strong commercial background as a highly regarded development project director offers key experience to the organisation. Ian has led numerous complex mixed-use projects including the successful delivery of the recently unveiled Pacific Fair Shopping Centre.
The Star Entertainment Group’s Managing Director Queensland, Geoff Hogg said Ian’s expertise would enable him to effectively oversee development at the Queensland properties and further capitalise on The Star’s significant investment in the region.
“Ian brings more than a decade of experience in commercial development, a thorough understanding of the local area and a deep knowledge of delivering major mixed-use projects to the table,” Geoff said.
“He joins our business at a time of rapid transformation and growth, as Jupiters prepares to transition to The Star Gold Coast early next year, and we begin early works on the Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct.”
Prior to joining The Star Entertainment Group, Ian was the Divisional Development Manager, Queensland for AMP Capital Investors Ltd; a driving force behind the $700 million Pacific Fair redevelopment.
