AVANI Broadbeach Residences on track to open ahead of Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games

One year on from announcement of the launch of Minor Hotel’s AVANI Hotel & Resort brand in Australia, the 219-key AVANI Broadbeach Residences is scheduled to open in Q1 2018.

Signalling the first AVANI to open in Australia, construction of the $150 million tower, currently being developed by Anthony Moreton Group and Pryde Group, is well advanced with the construction program currently ahead of schedule under the direction of Multiplex, the basement already completed, jump form erected, and pouring of the first 10 of the 35 levels underway.

Buyers are also showing strong interest in the 35-level tower, with 80 percent of apartments already sold off plan, including a large number of investors from China, Singapore, New Zealand, France, Hong Kong, New Caledonia and Vietnam, and in equal measure Australian interstate and local buyers.

Of the sales to date, over 80 buyers have already committed to the AVANI letting agreement, reinforcing investors’ confidence in having their assets managed by a global hotel group such as AVANI Hotels & Resorts.

Each of the contemporary one-bedroom and two-bedroom beachside apartments, with interior design by DBI interiors, will offer impressive ocean and/or city views. The open layout encompasses a lounge, dining room and kitchen with modern Hafele appliances, all complemented by a beach-inspired, naturally neutral colour scheme.

Guest facilities will include a landscaped terrace and Zen garden, a resident’s lounge, gymnasium, outdoor landscaped pool, meeting space and a contemporary bar and restaurant.

Dillip Rajakarier, CEO Minor Hotels said: “We are thrilled by the response received from local and offshore investors and we anticipate that the opening of AVANI Broadbeach Residences will also be met by great enthusiasm from visitors wanting to experience AVANI’s genuine hospitality and contemporary style during the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games in April, which is expected to bring thousands of local and international visitors to the city.”

AVANI Broadbeach Residences is also in close proximity to the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, Star Casino and the newly renovated Pacific Fair.

2018 will also see over 8,000 Chinese visitors head to the Gold Coast for the Infinitus staff incentive program. Infinitus is one of China’s largest personal health care companies, and this event will provide the city with another healthy tourism injection.

“The addition of 219 keys to the Gold Coast’s hotel room inventory will have a profound impact on the city’s ability to cater to the swell of tourists who visit each and every year. We anticipate our property will be of great appeal to travellers seeking a contemporary and central base in one of Australia’s most sought after holiday destinations,” said Mr Rajakarier.

Minor Hotels already has a strong presence in Australia through its brand Oaks Hotels & Resorts, which the group acquired in 2011 and currently includes 54 properties in its portfolio.
