$6.5m Pullman Reef Casino Hotel refurbishment set for Cairns
The five-star Pullman Reef Hotel Casino in Cairns has completed an extensive $6.5 million refurbishment program extending to all level one public areas.
Ready in time for the busy Chinese New Year season, the update includes a new-look hotel lobby, expansion of Tamarind Restaurant, new Bar36 Live Lounge and new Merchant café.
In a move that will set the hotel apart from its counterparts, Pullman Reef Casino Hotel will now offer guests who book their stay on www.accorhotels.com luxurious inclusions, regardless of the room type selected.
Pullman Reef Hotel Casino’s room rates will now automatically include breakfast daily, self-parking, wifi, free national calls, a daily drink in the hotel’s new Bar36 and selected mini bar items free of charge that will be replenished daily.
Since Bar36 opened in December 2016 it has become Cairns’ newest live music venue with entertainment six nights a week. The impressive refurbishment boasts a new, larger stage as well as new state of the art audio visual and staging equipment along with 20m2 LED staging panels. The live lounge is attracting national chart topping acts such as Daryl Braithwaite, Ian Moss, Pseudo Echo and Sheppard.
A centerpiece of the bar is the unique experience of an LED pillar and interactive floor which reacts to footsteps. From walking across marine life in the Great Barrier Reef to stepping into a lake filling with water from life-like tropical falls, it is a show-stopping experience.
With the expansion of Tamarind Restaurant complete, more diners can experience the exquisite tastes of the region and quality wine list. Tamarind Restaurant has complemented its new dining area with another award, Australian Good Food & Travel Guide Chef Hat for 2017.
General manager Wayne Reynolds says the facelift comes at a perfect time to capitalise on the positive business and tourism drive for the region anticipated for 2017.
