Skydive Australia announces new locations in Noosa, Fraser Island and Bribie

A national adventure tourism company and winner of Best Tourism Activity Australia-wide at the 2016 Golden Backpack Awards, has announced the launch of three new drop zones in Noosa, Fraser Island and Bribie.

Thrill-seekers at the new locations will be able to join the hundreds of thousands of customers who have already taken the 14,000ft plunge.

Having acquired New Zealand’s leading tandem skydive operations NZONE and Skydive Wanaka in 2015 and 2016, and adventure ecotourism business Raging Thunder Adventures in 2016, Skydive Australia’s network is expanding rapidly.

Skydive Noosa operates out of the Sunshine coast airport and provides incredible views of Coolum, Mooloolaba and Noosa. Noosa offers a convenient check-in and departure location right at Sunshine Coast Airport Noosa with jumpers landing on beautiful Coolum beach.

Skydive Fraser Island offers a 100 percent guaranteed beach landing and has amazing views of the Fraser coast, national parks and Australia’s naturally stunning Rainbow Beach. Skydive Bribie will see jumpers land on the beach of stunning Bribie Island, the closest island to the buzz of Brisbane city.

Skydive Australia director Anthony Ritter said he was thrilled with the expansion and excited to share the experience with locals and travellers alike.

“Opening the sites in Noosa, Bribie and Fraser Island has brought us closer to our vision of becoming the world’s biggest and best adventure tourism business,” Ritter said.

“It’s remarkable that in 2011 we still only had 1 drop zone in Wollongong. Skydive Australia has seen significant growth since then, especially in the past couple of years, and it shows no sign of slowing in the foreseeable future.

“The opening of the new operations marks a strong start to 2017, and means we’re able to bring one of the most exhilarating experiences we know of to an even wider audience.

“All of our drop zones have been chosen because they lend themselves to spectacular views that fuel passion for the sport. The scenery combined with the enthusiasm and energy of our friendly team means our flyers get to experience skydiving in the best possible way.

“We have a strong team dedicated to running the new drop zones, all of whom provide a safe, personalised and highly enjoyable flight.

“I look forward to announcing further expansions in future as the Skydive network continues to grow,” said Ritter.
