Noosa Food & Wine Festival 2017

Thousands of foodies and wine fanatics from all over the country flocked to Noosa over the weekend to take in the much-anticipated Noosa Food and Wine Festival 2017 – and it didn’t disappoint.

Over 10,000 visitors attended more than 70 events across the four-day festival, with many events sold out. A total of 45 visiting chefs from Australia’s best restaurants – and international sensation, Sat Bains from the UK – cooked up a storm for festival goers.

Festival director, Maria Crews, said that Noosa came alive during the festival and it was great to see so many people having a great time and letting their hair down.

“This year’s Noosa Food and Wine Festival has been a true success and has set the bar for what can be achieved in future years. We held more than 70 events across the festival, in many different locations, and there was something for everyone to enjoy, no matter what their palette desired. It was wonderful to see Noosa come alive across the four days – everyone was in great spirits moving from one event to the next. Noosa Main Beach was a hub of fun, excitement and good food and wine, and was home to a number of our sold out events.”

The Noosa Woods was transformed into a wine and produce village, where some of the region’s best producers, cheese makers and saluministi came together to offer an array of tastings.

In a festival first, The Noosa Woods hosted the ultimate Festival music takeover on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. A one-off roll out of Australian dance music royalty teamed up for the festival weekend, with artists including Flight Facilities, Empire of the Sun and The Swiss to name a few.

“We had more than 3,500 visitors to The Noosa Woods who were able to visit 47 stalls, get to know our Festival chefs a bit better and see our winemakers go head to head on the main stage. The festival music takeover was a great addition to the program this year and created a real buzz amongst festival goers. We’re excited to start working on next year’s festival program and look forward to seeing everyone in 2018,” added Ms Crews.
