Citadines on Bourke Melbourne wins award for fifth time

The Ascott Limited (Ascott) has once again enjoyed success at the 2017 Tourism Accommodation Australia (TAA) Victoria Accommodation Awards for Excellence last night, with Citadines on Bourke Melbourne winning Apartment Accommodation of the Year for the fifth time.

The pre-eminent awards by TAA – a division of the Australian Hotels Association (AHA) – are recognised as the most highly regarded hospitality awards, honouring excellence in a wide range of categories in the accommodation industry.

Located in the heart of the city, Citadines on Bourke Melbourne consists of vibrant and modern studios and one and two bedroom apartments. Designed for international and domestic travellers on business or leisure, the property offers the privacy of a serviced apartment and the convenience of a hotel.

As well as winning Apartment Accommodation of the Year, Ascott was also named a finalist in Sales Employee of the Year and Excellence in Innovation categories.

Mr Kenneth Rogers, Ascott’s regional general manager for Australia and Indonesia, is thrilled with the news.

“We are honoured to be named as a finalist for two illustrious awards and ecstatic to have won Apartment Accommodation of the Year for a fifth time. The state award, which is given out by esteemed hospitality industry members, is testament to the high-quality products and services offered at Ascott properties all over the world.”

Ascott also operates four other services apartments in Australia; Citadines St Georges Terrace Perth, Somerset on Elizabeth Melbourne, Somerset on the Pier Hobart and Somerset on Salamanca Hobart.

Ascott is no stranger to the TAA Awards, having won the Best Suite Apartment Hotel award for Citadines on Bourke Melbourne in 2016, 2014, 2012 and 2011 as well as the national AHA award in 2011. Since its opening in July 2010, Citadines on Bourke Melbourne has also won the Silver Award in New Accommodation Development at the National Accommodation Industry Awards for Excellence 2011 and was a finalist at the Victorian Tourism Awards for New Tourism Development the same year.
