Melbourne’s first après-ski lodge

Mont Plonk is a complete alpine-themed takeover of Melbourne Public’s terrace from June 21 – July 16, promising an authentic après-ski experience in the middle of Melbourne.

Having teamed up with Ugg Australia to provide fur blankets, sheepskin rugs, and fire-pits, this urban ski lodge creates the true look and feel of an après-ski bar, despite being over 200km away from any snow-capped mountains.

Featuring a selection of warming wintery offerings, passionate (après) skiers will keep toasty with spiced rum injected mulled wine, alcoholic hot chocolate and signature warming cocktails. Mont Plonk will also be home to an array of traditional food that wouldn’t be out of place on the Alps, with cheese fondues and bratwurst sausages.

Owner of Melbourne Public, Alysha Darcy, is confident that this wintery wonderland will be a big hit. “Melbourne has many summery activities on offer, but we have found that winter can often be a little stale. Europeans do winter so well that we thought we would channel the unique atmosphere that their chalets and ski lodges create – to inject some fun into the colder months.”

This ski lodge pop-up will launch with an exclusive opening party on the Winter Solstice, on June 21, with attendance from some of Melbourne’s favourite celebrities including Luke Darcy.
