Is your hotel energy efficient?

Energy ministers have taken positive steps towards addressing the national energy crisis, the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry said today.

Chief executive James Pearson said that it was critically important that energy ministers agreed to actions to prepare for this coming summer. Importantly, they did.

“Unfortunately, there’s little prospect of early relief for businesses from the recent power price hikes. The actions agreed today are welcome, if overdue, steps towards ensuring the security and reliability of our energy network.

“We are pleased energy ministers have been able to find points of agreement and look forward to improved reliability and security, and improved transparency and competition in the market.

“We welcome ongoing examination of a CET, but continue to encourage a constructive contribution to a nationally consistent policy approach. We don’t want it to stall.

“We encourage all parties to work with purpose towards an achievable, long term solution. That’s what is required to increase policy certainty on which increased investment in our energy infrastructure depends.”
