Wyndham Hotel arriving to Perth

Wyndham Hotel Group is strengthening its presence in Western Australia with the announcement of its third Perth hotel, set to open in late 2018, and its first for Perth under the company’s globally recognised Wyndham brand.

Situated on the corner of the Great Eastern Highway and Fitzroy Road, Wyndham LUX Perth will offer 120 rooms. Facilities include a swimming pool, gym, meeting rooms, a restaurant and a rooftop bar with views of the Swan River. The hotel is located within 6km of the Perth CBD, the WA Cricket Ground and Perth Stadium, and within walking distance of the Swan River and Crown Casino.

Site works are set to begin on the property, developed by NXT TEC. Ltd., in the second half of this year. Wyndham LUX Perth will be managed by Resort Management by Wyndham, which currently oversees a further 11 properties across Australia.

Wyndham LUX Perth will become the fifth Wyndham location in Australia, joining those in Sydney, Melbourne, the Gold Coast and Torquay, Victoria. The brand is experiencing steady growth in the South East Asia and South Pacific region with the established Wyndham Resort Denarau Island in Fiji and recent openings of Wyndham Sea Pearl Resort Phuket and Wyndham Tamansari Jivva Resort Bali.

“We’re strategically expanding our flagship Wyndham brand in capital cities like Perth where there is a low supply – but increasing demand – for upscale accommodations,” said Barry Robinson, president and managing director of Wyndham Hotel Group South East Asia and Pacific Rim.

“Perth is a growing city visited by millions of interstate and international travellers every year, serving as the gateway to many tourist hotspots across Western Australia and Indonesia, where we now have seven hotels. We’ll continue to seek out the right opportunities to grow our presence in the region to offer travellers more options in leading business and leisure destinations.”

Perth tourism has grown remarkably, and statistics from Tourism Western Australia show international visitation to the state increased 12.4 percent in the year ending December 2016 – the highest international visitation has reached for the state. The city is famous for being the Australian capital with the most hours of sunlight per year and offers a mix of beautiful coastlines, culinary delights and sporting experiences.

Natasha Di Ciano, chairperson at NXT TEC. Ltd said, “We are delighted to partner with Wyndham Hotel Group on this project. They are the world’s largest hotel group and we are excited by the potential of their global distribution capabilities, management expertise, along with the power of the generous and growing Wyndham Rewards loyalty program to help deliver first class hospitality to guests.”
