Revolutionary concept allows guests to book out entire hotel

A bespoke Sydney hotel has become the first able to be booked out in its entirety on Airbnb.

The property is available to be reserved as a ‘whole hotel’ on the home-share platform, with prices starting from $15,000 per night.

Tapping into current demand for experience-based stays, the luxurious 35-room Little Albion Guest House will have a dedicated team of hosts led by boutique accommodation expert and genuine Surry Hills local, Wendy Morris, on hand around the clock to offer individualised service.

The guest house will also feature an honour bar stocked with top shelf beverages and gourmet nibbles from which guests are encouraged to help themselves as they would at home.

On its rooftop, a garden oasis offers the chance to shower au naturel and dine alfresco overlooking Surry Hills and the city of Sydney.

The latest addition to the 8HOTELS portfolio, Little Albion Guest House was designed and developed by 8HOTELS and designer Connie Alessi in consultation with Cressida Kennedy.

“Delightfully intimate, devastatingly gorgeous, genuinely original and refreshingly unpretentious, Little Albion is the embodiment of the local guest house experience re-imagined for the modern luxury traveller,” gushes its press release.

According to 8HOTELS, designers researched hotels through the ages, from eighth century Japanese inns through big boxy hotels of the 1980’s to today’s boutique Airbnb offerings. They decided on a property that teamed the “luxury and comfort of a hotel with the ease and familiarity of home”.

The company’s CEO, Paul Fischmann, said: “Little Albion Guest House was created with the needs of today’s luxury travellers in the front of our minds, which are the authenticity of a local experience, alongside world-class boutique hotel service and ease of booking.

“To do this we had to redefine the whole hotel category by imagining a modern guest house, developed with the same attention to detail that a home owner has in creating their dream home, resulting in this truly one of a kind property.”

Little Albion has joined forces with Airbnb to be the first hotel that can be exclusively booked out via the platform.
