Melbourne’s boutique Jasper Hotel in $2.2 million room refurb

Jasper Hotel Melbourne has commenced the final stage of its hotel-wide refurbishment with a $2.2 million renovation of 59 accommodation rooms to be completed by early September 2019.

A major investment for the boutique hotel that opened in 2014, Jasper Hotel is now set to re-establish its place in Melbourne next to Queen Victoria Markets on Elizabeth Street, offering a unique and intimate hotel style, while new-build hotels are being developed across Melbourne. The six-week revitalisation project gives most attention to the Deluxe rooms with a stylish make-over, following a refurbishment of its suites three years ago.

Jasper’s new Deluxe rooms on levels 4 to 8 of the hotel will elevate guest comfort and sleep experience, with King Koil Platinum beds, 55” smart TV with Foxtel, spacious work desk with USB charging points, free WiFi and open plan cabinetry to create a greater sense of space.

Deluxe rooms now offer twin bedding capabilities to cater for groups and major corporate events.

Amber shades of the Jasper stone, from which the hotels name originates, are reflected in the vibrant palate, and the warm, ambient guestrooms feature all new oak finished furniture and bespoke high-backed fabric armchairs to form a haven for sleep, relaxation or working away from the office.

Tony Tantaro, General Manager of the Jasper Hotel said the completion of the refurbishment will significantly lift the standard its boutique hotel accommodation before the surge of new hotels enter the market in coming years.

“We can help meet the growing need for quality accommodation while offering a unique style of hotel with a local atmosphere in a building that has retained the true character of our neighbourhood. We are also able to meet demand for good-sized, affordable conference and event space in Melbourne.

“As a revitalised boutique hotel with 90 rooms, we can offer something different, attractive and well-priced that will appeal to both the domestic and international market for hotel stays, functions and corporate events.” he said.

The Jasper Hotel offers unique access to a tranquil sun-filled indoor Zen courtyard, all-day dining at Jasper Kitchen and Bar and an onsite gym.

The hotel’s extensive state of the art conference and event facilities offer 10 multi-functional pillarless meeting rooms, including a function hall for 300 people and 9 rooms and pre-function areas with varying capacities, for exhibitions, workshops, meetings, training and special events.

The Jasper Hotel will continue to operate during the refurbishment of its new rooms and will be ensuring the project has as little impact as possible on hotel guests and the surrounding area.
