$130m hotel tailored to suit Australia’s fashion capital

The Hotel Chadstone Melbourne will open its doors on November 1 as the Victorian capital’s first luxury accom built outside the CBD.

The $130 million boutique offering, situated 17 km from the city centre in Australia’s ‘fashion capital’ of Chadstone, joins Accor’s prestigious MGallery by Sofitel collection of luxury character properties.

The brand’s Inspired by Her focus taps into the sensibilities of Chadstone’s female fashion crowd, according to Accor. It includes attractions such as beauty items and emergency kits for women, nutritious restaurant and bar menus offering dishes and drinks inspired by notable women, and other services dedicated to women’s well-being.

The five-star hotel encompasses 250 rooms and suites, two penthouses, a rooftop pool and outdoor conservatory bar, wellness retreat and day spa complete with LED lounge and yoga studio.

Designed in collaboration with architects DWP, EDG and Bates Smart, the 12-storey hotel’s guest rooms will feature “commissioned furniture inspired by trunks from luxury European fashion houses complete with leather detailing, custom lighting and individually crafted bespoke seating”.

Neil Scanlan, general manager said, “The exquisite interior fit out of Hotel Chadstone has been completed and we are very excited to be nearing opening day. This address will set a new benchmark for luxury accommodation outside Melbourne’s CBD.”

“Demonstrating our commitment to continually evolve Chadstone, the hotel will capitalise upon and enhance Chadstone’s proven international and domestic appeal which sees 24 million people visit us each year, including more than half a million international visitors.”

The development includes Scott Pickett’s latest restaurant, Pastore, an Italian-inspired all-day restaurant with a focus on woodfire-fuelled cooking and handmade pasta.

“Chadstone is synonymous with design, luxury and fashion and whether you are staying with us for business or play Hotel Chadstone Melbourne is the ultimate destination to enjoy a shop, stay, dine and play experience at The Fashion Capital,” said Ms Mackenzie.

Hotel Chadstone Melbourne will become the eleventh MGallery by Sofitel hotel in Australia.
