New Crown for Sydney as Tassie veteran gets facelift
Crown Group will open a luxury serviced apartment hotel in Sydney’s $13 billion Green Square development early in 2020.
The Skye Suites hotel is part of the group’s $575 million Infinity development on the corner of Bourke Street and Botany Road, which comprises 326 residential apartments above a large central landscaped plaza.
The 20-story building, with its signature looped shape, was designed by Koichi Takada Architects and forms a gateway to the Green Square precinct.
Skye Suites Green Square will offer 90 studios, one and two-bedroom apartments boasting cutting-edge technology including keyless entry, virtual concierge iPads and a Staycast system allowing entertainment streaming from guests’ own devices. Each room will feature a complimentary mini-bar and a mattress menu which allows guests to choose individual firmness on each side of the bed.
Celebrity designer Juliet Ashworth of Chada is responsible for completing the interiors, taking inspiration from “the flowing, organic beauty of the building’s form”.
The hotel will have a mix of furnishings in a palette of navy, indigo, charcoal and oatmeal with accents of polished brass and hammered metal chrome lampshades and Philip Jeffries wallpapers featuring clouds and golden lily motifs.
Scamander remaster
The formerly Scamander Beach Hotel/Motel is celebrating a fresh identity as new owners Vision Hotels rename the property the Scamander Beach Resort ahead of a full refurbishment.
The landmark Tasmanian east coast property is within walking distance to the beach, river, local esplanade and shops and features balconied rooms offering panoramic views over the water and surrounding lanscape.
“Today is the start of an exciting era for Vision Hotels and Scamander Beach Resort, united by our vision to become a welcoming community for all,” said director of Vision Hotels, Brendon Deeley.
“Our operating plan includes initiatives that redefine Scamander Beach Resort’s identity, streamlines operations, and aligns our team members to deliver on friendliness, every single time.
“Our core values for creating a welcoming community will be embedded in everything we do, creating positive encounters for everlasting memories.”
The launch of the property’s new identity is a “significant milestone in a long-term operating plan that will transform the property” according to Deeley.
