Hilton Surfers Paradise’s $9m upgrade revealed

The first stage of a planned $9 million refurbishment will double the hotel’s capacity for meetings with a new full-service Executive Lounge, and  an additional nine executive guest rooms.

Level 15: Hilton Surfers Paradise Hotel & Residences

The refurbishment is the biggest makeover the hotel has seen in its eight-year history and will continue to unfold across multiple stages with the reinvention of its lobby and the inclusion of a casual bar/ all day dining area and an art gallery.

Hilton Surfers Paradise Commercial Director, Max Houri said the first stage of this multi-million-dollar project is supporting the hotel’s capacity to cater for the city’s conference and events industry.

“The business events space is worth around $540 million a year for the Gold Coast and we are committed to doing all we can to attract even more domestic and international groups to our city,”

“We’re working with Destination Gold Coast to encourage as many delegates as possible to hold their business events in Surfers Paradise, considering this segment of the tourism industry plays a vital role in boosting the local economy,”

“Our refurbishment has seen us double our meeting rooms to four spaces including the brand new Promenade Room with plans to grow that number even further in the near future,” Mr. Houri added.

Catering for up to 160 guests, the Promenade Room is a versatile and pillar-less space with state-of-the-art audio visual technology, encompassed by natural light from large circular windows that overlook the energy of Surfers Paradise.

Hilton Surfers Paradise General Manager, Fiona Pryde said the hotel is already considered a star performer in the global hotel company’s meetings and events space, being at the top of the Hilton Australasia rankings for meeting planners’ satisfaction.

“We know we are delivering exceptional conference experiences to our existing clients and we are looking forward to being able to showcase our renowned services to even more delegates as we launch our newly created Promenade Room,” Ms. Pryde said.

Another eagerly anticipated addition to the hotel is its new Executive Lounge, with the previous lounge being converted into a further nine executive guest rooms on level 15 of the hotel.

Pryde added, “As the only hotel on the Gold Coast that offers a full-service Executive Lounge, our executive visitors love the opportunity to enjoy their own personal space,”

“Aligning our design to our location is at the heart of our refurbishment with our new lounge embodying the coastal feel of the Gold Coast, a perfect blend of indoor and outdoor spaces ensuring those lucky enough to visit this special area are able to unwind amid luxury and seclusion.”

Plans for the revamped lobby are also in the final design stage featuring a new bar / all day dining area and a new art gallery is almost complete.

“With a combination of hotel rooms, executive guest rooms and one to four bedroom Residences, Hilton Surfers Paradise has the perfect blend of accommodation to suit couples, families and corporate travellers alike.” Ms. Pryde said.
