Why is Choice Hotels enabling ‘Book on Google’?

Book on Google supposedly streamlines the booking journey by allowing travellers to search for hotel rooms and then complete their reservation on Google.

Hotel group, Choice Hotels Asia-Pac, has chosen to enable Book on Google.

The service allows travellers to search for hotel rooms and then complete their reservation on Google using their saved credentials. All of these bookings are still processed and directly managed by Choice Hotels Asia-Pac’s properties. According to Choice, it is designed to streamline the booking journey, where Book on Google offers travellers another online option where they can experience the benefits of booking directly and receive Choice Hotels Asia-Pac’s lowest price guarantee.

Choice guests will still be able to earn points for global loyalty program, Choice Privileges, by adding their membership number to their booking once they receive confirmation.

Trent Fraser, Chief Executive Officer of Choice Hotels Asia-Pac, said: “At Choice Hotels Asia-Pac, we pride ourselves on delivering efficient guest experiences and this begins at the reservations stage. Through our continued commitment to technology and innovation, we are pleased to offer travellers another choice when they book their next hotel stay, in addition to our own reservations system, the Choice Hotels website and App”.

The announcement sees Choice Hotels Asia-Pac join its global parent company, Choice Hotels International, enabling the new online booking interface.

Andrew Silverman, Google Product Management Director, Andrew Silverman said: “We launched Book on Google to help ease friction in the travel booking process. This feature makes it easier for users to book seamlessly online and helps to minimise drop off. We’re excited to have Choice Hotels join us and help to create a seamless booking process for users.”
