Real Housewives of Melbourne takeover TNQ

TNQ’s main attractions take lead role in high-rating show

In much need of a major boost to rejuvenate its long-suffering tourism industry, Tropical North Queensland is hoping the current screening of ‘The Real Housewives of Melbourne’ will do the trick and bring business rolling back.

Shot on location in May 2021 before state borders slammed shut, the highly-rating TV show has been beaming into Australia’s living rooms since late October and according to the producers, the ratings have been solid.

While the seven housewives indulge themselves in what the show’s producers describe as TNQ’s epic, uber-luxury experiences, the real stars of the show are several of the region’s prime attractions and activities.

Those taking lead roles include ‘heli-golfing” at Sheraton Mirage Country Club followed by lunch at the Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas, driving sports cars along all 163 bends of the Gilles Highway to the beatific Millaa Millaa Falls, famed as the venue for many a shampoo commercial, and catamaran sailing at Low Isles with luxury boat operator Sailaway.

Of course a ‘lux’ visit to TNQ would not be complete without a stay at Crystalbrook Flynn, the ‘social butterfly of the Crystalbrook Collection’ of hotels where the housewives enjoyed luxury suites overlooking the Coral Sea.
