Silas Croucher, Project Director of Destination Gold Coast Consortium, which is delivering the hotel and apartments tower as part of The Star’s $2 billion masterplan, said the concrete pour of level 21 represents the completion of the first third of the tower structure.

“The top out of the hotel is a significant construction marker as the vertical build continues and we remain on track for an end-of-2024 completion,” Mr Croucher said.

“The ongoing rise of the 200m high tower will be noticeable now as we see the structure rising at approximately one level per week.”

“The glass façade installation is also underway and quite visible on the skyline, so it’s exciting to see the new tower starting to take shape,” he said.

“The internal fit-out of the hotel is also underway, while 475 new car park spaces will soon be opened for public use.”

The new five-star hotel will sit above the six-level podium connecting directly to The Star Gold Coast’s other resort offerings via a continuation of the ground-level boardwalk, a level three retail promenade, and the recreation deck.

All 437 of the one, two and three-bedroom residential apartments in the second tower have been sold and are unconditional.

The Star Gold Coast General Manager Hotel and Residences Mark Hodge said, “The Star is proud of its ongoing investment and job creation in the city and the new tourism amenities, including events and conferring spaces, it is bringing to the region.”

“We have mapped out a visionary masterplan and are expanding as a world-class tourism and entertainment destination in one of Australia’s biggest tourism markets.

“There has been a great demand for the new The Star Residences and Dorsett Hotel since opening,” he said.

“And together with The Star Grand and the luxury all-suite The Darling the current accommodation options at The Star Gold Coast is well over 1,100 rooms.

“By the time the new tower is complete, we will have as many hotel rooms as Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.
