High accolades for Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Port Douglas

Travel & Leisure Luxury Awards Asia Pacific 2023: Resort recognised in three major categories at the prestigious international awards

Tropical North Queensland’s largest luxury playground, Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Port Douglas, has been awarded in three categories at the inaugural Travel & Leisure Luxury Awards Asia Pacific 2023.

General Manager Steve Molnar was awarded the Best Hotel General Manager in Australia, whilst the resort achieved second place in the Australian Hotel Pools category, and was ranked third in the Beach Island Hotels category.

The Travel + Leisure Luxury Awards celebrate the cream of the crop across a variety of categories in the Asia Pacific region – from five-star urban escapes to private-island resorts, innovative spas, IG-worthy swimming pools, airports, cruises, extraordinary talent, immersive travel experiences and more. Nominees are selected by the Travel + Leisure team of editors and expert contributors, with voting open to anyone, anywhere. Boasting 2 hectares of spectacular swimmable pools, including 8 saltwater lagoons with sandy beaches, and a freshwater pool with a swim-up bar, the pools are at the epicentre of Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Port Douglas. Guests can enjoy poolside dining from 25 private cabanas or unwind on a sun lounge along 1.8 kilometres of palm-fringed beach frontage. Guests staying in one of the resort’s 53 Swim-Out rooms will enjoy direct access to the sparkling pools. The resort is also home to Queensland’s first Floating Breakfast which launched earlier this year.
