Against a backdrop of high interest rates, massively disrupted travel flows, record-high construction costs, and supply chain disruptions, Hotel Advisors Global has been launched boasting some of the industry’s most experienced professionals.
Hotel Advisors Global has been created out of THSA Hotel Advisors, a renowned name with over two decades of proven experience behind some of the region’s most successful hotel outcomes.
The launch of the new entity builds on THSA’s extensive experience of working on over 500 projects and 400+ hotels across 16 countries, spanning Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Africa, the Americas, the UK, and Europe.
Behind the new name sits the same team with the same depth of experience: 150 years of combined team expertise, and unlike some other hotel advisory companies specialising in limited areas of the business, Hotel Advisors Global brings a complete advisory service based on having sat on both sides of the negotiating table — as operators, owners, and advisors.
Hotel Advisors Global is fully credentialled to provide an independent perspective, enabling clients to cut through complexity, manage risk, and build long-term value, achieving better decisions, certainty, and returns.
The company will focus on five core services: hotel asset management; market demand assessments and financial forecasting; development, design and construction advisory; operator selection and contracting; and expert witness and litigation support.
What sets Hotel Advisors Global apart is what has always set THSA apart — independence from transaction incentives, and a perspective informed by genuine, lived hotel experience rather than theory alone.
The Hotel Advisors Global team comprises Managing Director Rodger Powell, Chief Executive Officer Ruwan Peiris, Principal Consultant Heather Linnell, whose 250-plus research studies have shaped hotel decisions worldwide, and Project Manager Luisa Davidson.
“The launch comes at a critical time for the industry,” said Rodger Powell.
“After a resounding boom in the industry for well over a decade, the pipeline of new projects is drying up as the realisation of world instability drives up development and operating costs, while threatening business and leisure travel.
“The need to be able to pivot and use the most trusted research and expert advice to develop operating strategies has never been more imperative.” The Hotel Advisors Global team comprises Chief Executive Officer Ruwan Peiris, Principal Consultant Heather Linnell and Managing Director Rodger Powell
CEO Ruwan Peiris added: “The traditional hotel management landscape has also changed making it even more complex for owners to ensure their assets are delivering their ultimate financial potential.
“Having advisors who might be property or financial specialists might be useful for addressing relative straightforward issues, but the hotel world is no longer straightforward, and Hotel Advisors Global offers unparalleled access to a complete suite of experience.”
