Accor’s Perth hotels set for record-breaking spring and summer
Accor sees further opportunity in WA’s accommodation sector, particularly in extended stay and lifestyle hotels.
Accor hotels across Perth and regional Western Australia are preparing for one of their strongest years in recent memory, with occupancy levels already tracking well ahead of 2024.
As the largest hotel operator in the state, Accor manages 23 properties across WA, including 10 in Perth. Bookings for the remainder of 2025 are currently 10 percent higher than last year, with momentum set to accelerate through the final quarter.
October and November are shaping up as standout months, with Perth hotel occupancy already sitting 25 percent higher in October and 39 percent higher in November. The surge is being driven by a powerful mix of leisure, corporate and group travel.
Sporting blockbusters boost demand
Two major sporting events are fuelling the growth. The Bledisloe Cup Test on October 4 has already lifted bookings 14 percent above 2024 levels, while the Ashes Test in late November is creating unprecedented demand. Across the Ashes period, hotel bookings are tracking 57 percent higher on average, with Friday and Sunday nights soaring 61 percent.
Adrian Williams, Accor Pacific Chief Operating Officer, told AccomNews that Perth is benefitting from a diverse mix of demand drivers.
“Perth is shaping up for one of its most dynamic years in over a decade, with the combination of international cricket, rugby, and growing corporate and leisure travel creating strong momentum,” Mr Williams said.
“The Ashes is proving to be a major catalyst, not just for match-day bookings but for extended stays, with visitors looking to explore everything the city and surrounding regions have to offer. Similarly, the Bledisloe Cup is providing a strong springboard for October demand across both corporate and leisure markets.”

Regional WA outlook strongest in years
It’s not just the capital city benefitting. Regional Western Australia is recording its strongest end-of-year outlook in more than a decade, with occupancy up 11 percent compared to 2024. Growth is particularly pronounced in the final quarter, with October up 34 percent, November up 77 percent, and December up 88 percent year-on-year as business groups, holidaymakers and leisure travellers converge on WA’s regional hubs.
Accor sees further opportunity in WA’s accommodation sector, particularly in extended stay and lifestyle hotels.
“Extended stay is an increasingly important segment, especially in a state with such a strong resources and project-based workforce. Our The Sebel and Mantra brands combine apartment-style living with hotel services, making them ideally suited to both corporate and leisure travellers,” Mr Williams said.
“Lifestyle hotels are also reshaping expectations, adding even greater energy to a city already buzzing with cultural, sporting and business activity. Against the backdrop of cost-of-living pressures, the strength of demand across both Perth and regional WA highlights the resilience of the State’s tourism and hospitality industry, and its growing global reputation as a must-visit destination.”
Accor operates more than 20 international hotel brands across Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and French Polynesia, ranging from luxury to economy, including Sofitel, MGallery, Pullman, Peppers, The Sebel, Mantra, Novotel, TRIBE, Mercure and ibis.
