G’day Group acquires Habitat Noosa Everglades EcoCamp

G'day Group has lifted its Queensland investment to $110 million, further expanding its regional tourism footprint across the state and creating the 97th of its Discovery Parks and Resorts

Australia’s largest regional accommodation provider, G’day Group, has expanded its Queensland footprint with the acquisition of the iconic Habitat Noosa Everglades EcoCamp, a major eco-tourism destination positioned at the gateway to the Noosa Everglades.

The acquisition lifts G’day Group’s Queensland investment over the past three years to $110 million and grows its national network to 97 Discovery Parks and Resorts.

Located within the Great Sandy National Park, the 26-hectare property is regarded as one of the most uniquely positioned tourism assets in the country, offering accommodation, hospitality, and guided nature experiences beside one of only two everglade systems in the world.

The site features more than 300 accommodation options, including glamping tents, powered and unpowered caravan and camping sites, and backpacker cabins. Guests also have access to a 200-seat bar and bistro overlooking Lake Cootharaba, an on-site microbrewery, and complimentary shuttle transfers to and from Noosa Heads.

The acquisition also includes Everglades Eco Safaris, the sole boat tour operator within the Noosa Everglades, providing guided eco-cruises and wildlife experiences throughout the region.

Grant Wilckens, founder and CEO of G’day Group

Grant Wilckens, founder and CEO of G’day Group, said the acquisition reflects the company’s continued focus on premium regional tourism experiences.

“We are pleased to welcome Habitat Noosa to our Discovery Resorts portfolio, bringing our total investment in Queensland to $110 million over the last three years,” Wilckens said.

“An exceptional asset, Habitat Noosa hosts more than 65,000 yearly visitors, making it a high-demand destination with strong domestic and international market appeal and clear potential for future, long-term growth.

“It is a significant addition to our Discovery Resorts portfolio and reflects our continued focus on investing in regional assets with destination-led tourism experiences.”

According to the Caravan Industry Association of Australia and BDO 2026 Global Economic Contribution Report, the property is expected to contribute almost $40 million annually to the regional economy while supporting more than 150 full-time jobs across the Noosa region.

The deal marks G’day Group’s second Queensland resort under the Discovery Resorts banner alongside Discovery Resorts – Undara, and follows the company’s 2025 acquisitions of Discovery Parks – Lake Tinaroo, Discovery Parks – Bargara, and Discovery Parks – Blackwater.

The acquisition also includes a new 60-year lease from the Queensland Government and approximately five hectares of vacant land, providing additional future development opportunities in a region continuing to experience strong tourism demand.

The announcement comes as Noosa continues to strengthen its position as a global tourism destination, recently being named one of the world’s top 10 “Most Welcoming Towns on Earth” for 2026 and ahead of the region’s long-term tourism planning tied to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games.
