Johnwoods Holdings P/L acquired the management rights to The Hastings in Noosa Heads more than six years ago. It was the second property acquired by the management group that consists of David and Peta Woods and Kim and Susie Cox.
David said they decided to buy The Hastings due to its easy management.
“We already had The Emerald so buying another property in the same street meant it would be easy to manage.”
The Hastings is located behind a row of boutique shops about halfway along Hastings St.
The resort features a unique concept of 25 two-level individual self contained accommodation villas set amongst tropical gardens. There is a choice of garden, premium or deluxe villas. All three villas have a one queen bed and two single bed configuration suitable for a maximum capacity of four adults or two adults and three children.
Each villa is fully self contained with two separate bedrooms, two-way bathroom, private balcony, fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, ceiling fans (in the garden villas) and air-conditioning (in the premium and deluxe villas), direct dial telephones, video players and stereo.
Within the complex, guests can enjoy leisure facilities such as a heated pool, wading pool and barbecue facilities and undercover parking, tour book service, on site management and babysitting.
Being an older property, David said the 3½ star accommodation complex is due for a minor facelift.
“There has been no work done on the property to date but we are looking at doing renovations as we speak.”
But The Hastings’ age has no effect on its steady occupancy rates. In fact, The Hastings is one of Noosa Heads’ busiest resorts and David knows why. “The best thing about The Hastings is it is extremely affordable for Hastings St.”
Due to its affordability and prime position, The Hastings is popular with a variety of demographics from families to groups, couples and the elderly.
“The Hastings shares a similar demographic to The Emerald,” David said.
