Toga plans seven new openings

Toga Hospitality is to open at least seven new hotels during the next 12 months, according to chief executive Rachel Argaman. “2013 would be a good year for business.”

“We saw strong rate increases in January, and this past year has seen recovery in many of our traditional markets as well as a surge in Asian inbound and free and independent travel markets,” she said.

Three new Adina Apartment Hotels will open in the next two years: Adina Apartment Hotel in Bondi that opens in June with 110 apartments; Adina Apartment Hotel Mascot – Toga’s first airport hotel – to start construction next year; and Adina Apartment Hotel that will be built as part of the redevelopment at Royal Randwick Racecourse with 170 apartments.

A 100-room Vibe hotel will be built in Marysville, 50km northeast of Melbourne, a Travelodge will be built at Tuggerah next year with the Central Coast Mariners Football Club as the operator.

The Hotel Kurrajong was acquired by Toga Hotels and the NRMA in Canberra last month.
