Wyong Mayor leads celebrations for the arrival of ibis Styles The Entrance

NSW Central Coast residents turned out with the sunshine to celebrate the official opening of newest hotel in the region – ibis Styles The Entrance – alongside Wyong Mayor, Councillor Doug Eaton and Accor Pacific Chief Operating Officer Simon McGrath.

Over 50 guests arrived to the relaxed back-yard garden party, styled with touches of summer fun including paddling pool and cricket sets, and toe-tapping entertainment provided by local music favourite The Call Me Bruce. Guests indulged on a wheelbarrow load full of fresh seafood and canapés provided by chef and the team at the adjoining Diggers@theentrance club.

Special guests included Diggers@theentrance Chairman Peter O’Grady who kicked off proceedings to welcome guests followed by speeches from Diggers CEO Stephen Byfield and Wyong Mayor, Councillor Doug Eaton. Mr Eaton spoke of his enthusiasm for the arrival of the international ibis Styles brand to The Entrance which will play an important part in the local tourism economy.

Accor Pacific Chief Operating Officer, Simon McGrath, spoke about his confidence in the NSW Central Coast tourism and hospitality scene and congratulated ibis Styles The Entrance hotel manager Christine Haynes and her team for an outstanding launch of the hotel.

“We are proud of the new relationships that Accor have formed with the team from Diggers and are absolutely delighted to be involved with this outstanding organisation that lead the community, and not surprisingly have been able to turn a project like this ibis Styles hotel from a dream into reality. We congratulate Diggers@theentrance on the hotel opening and wish the team every success,” said Mr McGrath.

The new-build 52-room hotel is located on the NSW Central Coast with uninterrupted views over Tuggerah Lakes and just a few minutes’ drive from the town centre of The Entrance. It is directly linked to the historic Diggers@theentrance club, which offers several dining, conference and recreational facilities including The Pavilion Events Centre, state-of-the-art gym and indoor children playcentre.
