Third high rise for Chevron Island

Developer HWI Saltwater – a subsidiary of Highland Works Infrastructure – has applied to the Gold Coast City Council to build a 30-storey strata title property on Chevron Island.

The purpose-formed development company owned by Nichantha Palliyaguru has unveiled plans for a tower – Bliss on Chevron – with 228 apartments. It will be the island’s highest building if approved. GC lawyer Tony Hickey has approval for a 15-level complex and Brisbane’s Citimark Group has sought approval for a 21-level tower.

HWI’s Cedric Rodrigues said Bliss on Chevron had been designed to capture the village feel of Chevron Island. “We’re aware it will set the tone for other projects on Chevron so we have worked hard to get it right. The street-front landscaping will be right in keeping with the existing character of the island.”

The tower, designed by BDA Architecture, will have a three-level basement that will provide at least one park for each apartment.

A podium level will include a residents’ lounge, gymnasium, barbecue area and 25m wet-edge heated pool.
