Sunshine Coast has epic theme park plans, check out the trailer

An interesting use of video to promote a tourist development, this is an idea accommodation providers could potentially adopt. The thrilling promo video was released this week as a taster of the Sunshine Coast’s newest tourism development.

Only last month, investors announced plans for a “first of its kind” $400 million “active sports” theme and water park for the Sunshine Coast, boasting that it will “set the world alight”!

The recently formed Sunshine Coast company Sanad Capital is led by founder and CEO Bradley P. Sutherland, a Queenslander who returned home after 21 years in Dubai. He has also named Los Angeles-based Thinkwell Group as lead consultant on the project.

The exciting two-minute, Milk Tray Man adstyle trailer was released on YouTube. It intrigues and rouses with its fast paced cinematography and thrilling music. The promo kicks off with a helicopter ride and a shady, masked parachuter showcasing the Sunshine Coast’s extraordinary scenery as well as teasing snippets of the proposed park’s design sketches.

Planned for development in 2017, the project is yet-to-be-named but has the preliminary approval of the Sunshine Coast Council. The park, an Australian first, promises to “wow outdoors and action sports enthusiasts in a natural, healthy environment that enables families to reconnect and spend quality time together”, it will also attract tourists and bring employment to the region.

The Sunshine Coast-based Mr Sutherland said: “We are creating a lifestyle, an outdoor haven that sunny coasters can enjoy at their disposal. We have the best year-round climate in the world, so we intend to make full use of that.”

The unique Steve Irwin Way project will also have a world’s first ‘wave reservoir’, a world class water park, extreme water sports facilities, a prestigious action sports training and development centre as well as a four-star hotel, exhibition and conference centre, cafes, restaurants, international and local retail outlets.
