Paradise Resort Gold Coast General Manager, David Brook with Destination Gold Coast Partnership & Membership Services Manager, Jason Thomas

General Manager,  David Brook said since travel re-started at the beginning of the year, the resort had welcomed thousands of families.

“Most importantly, we have listened and responded to their feedback to enhance the experience even further,” Mr Brook said, citing the installation of new shade cloths over the resort’s BBQ area and jungle gym following guest feedback.

“We also introduced a new online ordering system for our outlets and activities, so that parents could order and book everything without leaving their sunchair or having to queue.

“With large numbers in the resort, and with tired children, to have such a time-efficient system has proven extremely popular.

“New facilities added included a Pamper Parlour offering braiding, face painting and creative nail art.

For our younger guests our safari train ride, themed around our adventure mascot ‘Dusty’, has been a huge hit with parents and children.

“And we’ve added in educational aspects, a highlight being the introduction of Indigenous Mornings in our Kids Club, which include a welcome to country, Dreamtime story and craft session hosted by one of our staff members who is Gunggari from her mother’s side and Kamilaroi from her father’s side. It is a fun and engaging way for our kids to embrace the First Nation’s culture.

Mr Brook said the resort was being increasingly opened up to the local community, hosting birthday parties, community groups, youth clubs, and charities, as well as donating room nights, vouchers and ice-skating tickets so that charities can help raise funds to support their important services.

“The team has really enjoyed contributing to the Gold Coast tourism renaissance. After two years of the tourism and hospitality sector really struggling because of the pandemic, 2022 has seen a heartening revival and we have been thrilled to help return the Gold Coast to its glory days,” he said.
