Marriott International announces second Moxy Hotel in Sydney

There is no place more challenging in Australia to secure new hotel footholds than Sydney CBD, so this signing is remarkable.

Marriott International has announced the signing of the agreement for Moxy Sydney Pitt Street, scheduled to open in August 2025.

This signing comes only months following the opening of the landmark 301-room Moxy Sydney Airport, the first hotel for the spirited and experiential brand in Australia.

New-build Moxy Sydney Pitt Street expects to feature 314 rooms, located in the heart of Sydney’s CBD at 371 Pitt Street, offering convenient access to retail locations such as Pitt Street Mall and Martin Place plus a wide range of new and happening food and beverage venues. The Moxy hotel will also feature Sydney’s highest outdoor rooftop bar on level 34, as well as high street retail.

Once opened, the hotel will join a growing collection of more than 140 Moxy hotels across the world and anticipates being Marriott International’s eighth hotel in the greater Sydney area.

Moxy Sydney Pitt St

Moxy Sydney Pitt Street is anticipated to feature a restaurant and bar, gym, meeting rooms, a grab-and-go concept, and is also expected to have retail tenancies such as a signature rooftop bar.

The hotel will encapsulate the Moxy brand spirit which is renowned for its boundary-breaking experiences, lively communal places, and energetic crew. Combining stylish, industrial design and sociable service at an affordable price point, guests can save on space and splurge on experiences.

Marriott’s existing portfolio of Sydney hotels includes brands such as Sheraton, Autograph Collection, W Hotels, Marriott Hotels, Four Points by Sheraton and Courtyard by Marriott. Moxy Sydney Pitt Street will bring a playful yet stylish experience to the city, targeting guests who are looking for an upbeat, affordable and inclusive stay.
