Tripadvisor has listed the world’s best beaches according to its 2017 Travellers’ Choice Awards, and Australia features heavily. Here are the top ten Travellers’ Choice beaches in Australia:

“Aussies love the beach so for those planning their next sandy getaway, TripAdvisor has identified from millions of traveller reviews, the best beaches throughout the world as well as those right here in our back yard,” said Joanne Kershaw, spokesperson for TripAdvisor.

Tourism and Events Queensland’s chief executive Leanne Coddington said Queensland was a dream destination for travellers the world over. “Queensland is just the place to discover the world’s most pristine beaches, with Whitehaven Beach in the Whitsundays a must-do experience for visitors,” Ms Coddington said.

“It’s fantastic to see our diverse coastal destinations strongly represented amongst TripAdvisor’s Top 10 Travellers’ Choice awards for Beaches, from Tropical North Queensland to the Whitsundays, Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast. Our reefs, islands and beaches are signature experiences and a drawcard for millions of visitors each year,” Ms Coddington added.
