Accor to expand – new hotels opening in New Zealand and Australia
This week Accor announced plans to expand its hotel offerings in the pacific region within the next 12 months, with three new accommodations being added to their premium hotel brand, The Sebel.
Set to open in New Zealand and Australia the new hotels will include The Sebel Wellington Lower Hutt in New Zealand, plus the The Sebel Yarrawonga and The Sebel Melbourne Ringwood both in Australia.
Simon McGrath AM, Chief Executive Officer for Accor Pacific, assures that the expansion will deliver benefits for guests, loyalty members and their communities in both countries.

Trusted brands, like The Sebel, bring quality and credibility to the serviced apartments sector, which has been rapidly growing in popularity. We are expecting to see a boom in this area, particularly in the current climate, as serviced apartments limit unnecessary contact with other guests and offer a safe and secure way to travel.

The addition of these three new hotels will take the total number of The Sebel properties across New Zealand and Australia to 35.
The Sebel Wellington Lower Hutt NZ is to open in June, 2021
Accor is once again partnering with the well-known Sarin Family for the new-build The Sebel Wellington Lower Hutt, which will open in mid-2021.
The property will overlook the Hutt River on the eastern shores of Wellington Harbour, a short distance from Wellington International Airport. Built-in partnership with Hutt City Council’s project for the New Civic Centre, which includes a new 800-seater Events Centre adjoining the City’s historic Town Hall, this apartment-style hotel boasts 60 fully serviced studios and one-bedroom apartments.
It will provide a modern and convenient place for business and leisure visitors to stay while attending conferences, exhibitions or events. Complete with a restaurant and bar, ‘Biscotti’, this new hotel embraces The Sebel brand standards, with warm, stylish and homely furnishings to make guests feel welcome as soon as they arrive in The Sebel lounge.
The Sebel Yarrawonga VIC planned to open 1 November, 2020
The much-anticipated The Sebel Yarrawonga located in the picturesque Murray River region adjacent to Silverwoods Golf and Lifestyle Resort, is set to open its doors to guests on 1 November 2020.
The multi-million dollar development will set a new benchmark in accommodation, dining, conference and events facilities for the Murray River region.
Situated an hours’ drive from Albury town centre, a three hour drive from Melbourne and five hours from Sydney, The Sebel Yarrawonga, will offer 63 stylishly appointed studios rooms and apartments, with a further 54 rooms expected in stage two of the development later in 2022/2023.
It will initially open two of its three food and beverage venues – Stock & Barrel bar and casual dining and Sunset Pool Bar – with Elizabeth’s fine dining restaurant and functions set to open in December. Accor is delighted to work with developers, Lotus Living. Rooms start from $199* per night.
The Sebel Melbourne Ringwood VIC – opening 22 February, 2021
Accor is thrilled to partner with prominent Victorian ‘Brady’ family of Amber Property Group to open The Sebel Melbourne Ringwood in mid-February 2021, which will welcome 103 rooms, including full apartment-style rooms, to Melbourne’s burgeoning Eastern suburbs growth corridor in Ringwood.
Spanning six floors, the property will feature 48 studio apartments, 48 one-bedroom suites and seven two-bedroom suites, with guest access to impressive onsite amenities including, an ultra-modern fitness centre, four sophisticated and well-appointed meeting spaces, two practical function rooms, a restaurant, delicatessen and bar and an open-air terrace.
