TFE Hotels announces new Queensland build

TFE Hotels, a prominent Australian-based leader in apartment-style hotels, has unveiled exciting plans for the new Adina Apartment Hotel Chermside Brisbane, designed by WMK.

The 148-key hotel, set to open its doors in 2025, is strategically located in the thriving suburb of Chermside, offering guests a modern and perfectly situated experience.

Nestled in the heart of Chermside, one of Brisbane’s fastest-growing and vibrant suburbs, the Adina Chermside Brisbane aims to meet the diverse needs of its guests.

The hotel’s amenities will include an all-day dining restaurant, a café/bar, a lobby lounge, a meeting room, a fitness center, rainwater harvesting capabilities, and convenient hotel parking.

TFE Hotels’ Group Chief Operating Officer, Chris Sedgwick, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “The signing of Adina Chermside Brisbane is a significant milestone for TFE Hotels, providing an opportunity for us to expand our Adina footprint from two hotels to three in the powerhouse state of Queensland.”

Sedgwick added, “Adina Chermside brings a renowned, international hotel brand to this important suburb, filling a gap in the accommodation market for the north side of Brisbane and the Prince Charles Hospital. Significantly it also represents an incredible opportunity to expand our footprint to maximise on the incredible decade of transformation that lies ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.”

Chermside has been identified by the Queensland Government as a key focal point for services outside the CBD and is expected to nearly double its population figures by 2036. 

Located just a 20-minute drive north of Brisbane’s city center, Chermside is unofficially recognised as the mini central business district of Brisbane’s northern suburbs.

Adina Chermside is owned by Limitless Developments, a South-East Queensland-based company with a remarkable track record of delivering a diverse portfolio worth over $150 million, and another $160 million in the pipeline. Nick Barr, the owner of Limitless Developments, brings over 25 years of experience in Brisbane and a deep commitment to community support and fundraising.

According to Barr, Adina Chermside Brisbane is poised to capitalise on the strong economic and population growth currently experienced in Chermside and the greater northern suburbs.

Chermside is a major health and medical hub, notably home to the Prince Charles Hospital precinct, which services the medical needs of not only Brisbane but also greater Queensland residents.

As part of the State Government’s Queensland Capacity Expansion Program, The Prince Charles Hospital is set to undergo a $300 million expansion starting in December 2024, further enhancing the region’s healthcare facilities.

Chermside also boasts one of the largest shopping centers in the country – Westfield Chermside, providing ample retail therapy opportunities. The area is well-connected with excellent public transport, offering a range of shops and stores to explore.
