Queenstown’s Nugget Point Hotel to close for extensive renovations
An exciting transformation of the boutique hotel, managed by Capstone Hotel Management
Queenstown’s Nugget Point Hotel has checked-out its last guests and will officially close its doors on Friday August 30, as it prepares for a significant refurbishment.
The boutique hotel, managed by Capstone Hotel Management, will undergo an extensive transformation to modernise the property to a five-star luxury standard. The renovations, which also include a rebranding of the hotel, are expected to be completed by mid-2025.

Perched above the Shotover River in Arthur’s Point, Queenstown, Nugget Point Hotel is the closest hotel to Coronet Peak ski area. The property features 40 guest rooms, each with private balconies or patios. The expansive property also boasts a Roman-style spa, food and beverage areas, conference rooms, a fitness centre, squash courts, and a private cinema.
