Raffe Hotels & Resorts, a distinguished family-owned business with over 50 years of heritage in Fiji, has been awarded the esteemed Fiji Business Excellence Prize Level Award for 2024, the nation’s highest honour for performance excellence.
This award highlights Raffe’s relentless commitment to elevating Fiji’s hospitality standards and making meaningful contributions to the broader business community.

The award, recognising organisations that exemplify continuous improvement, innovation, and quality, was presented by His Excellency, the President of Fiji, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere. This accolade reflects the hard work and dedication of the Raffe Group, whose properties include the beloved family-friendly Plantation Island Resort, the exclusive adults-only Lomani Island Resort & Spa, and the ultra-convenient Fiji Gateway Hotel near Nadi International Airport.
Altaab Khan, Group Manager of Learning, Capability and Quality Assurance, accepted the award on behalf of Raffe Hotels & Resorts.
He expressed pride in the team’s collective achievement: “This recognition is a testament to the dedication, resilience, and commitment each of you brings to our organisation every day. It reflects not just a moment but the daily contributions and passion that make our group one of excellence.”
Mr. Khan further acknowledged the critical role of strong leadership in Raffe’s success, noting the guidance of CEO Lee Pearce. Pearce praised the team’s dedication to creating meaningful guest experiences, saying, “This award celebrates our team’s commitment to integrity, teamwork, and respect, and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished together.”
2024 has been a milestone year for Raffe Hotels & Resorts, marked by significant developments across its properties. Fiji Gateway Hotel is expanding with a new two-storey addition, set to add 47 rooms by October 2025 to meet rising demand from transiting travellers.
Plantation Island Resort enhanced its appeal with the UNESCO-endorsed BULA Reef nursery in collaboration with Corals for Conservation and the launch of its Jungle Water Park, alongside planned upgrades to its pools, dining areas, and rooms. Meanwhile, Lomani Island Resort & Spa is on track to open its new luxury Lomani Spa in December, offering an immersive wellness retreat centred on four wellness pillars.
