Empowering staff through training & inclusion
Going beyond standard accessibility measures, Elements of Byron is committed to empowering its workforce with specialised training. Team members undergo No Limits: Wheelchair Sport for Team Building and No Limits: Disability Awareness Training, facilitated by Social Futures, a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) partner.
These programs equip staff with the skills and understanding necessary to create a truly inclusive guest experience.
Furthermore, the resort is actively exploring workforce diversity initiatives by hiring individuals with disabilities, fostering a workplace culture that reflects its broader mission of respect and belonging.
Setting the benchmark for inclusive MICE events
Elements of Byron is also leading the way in accessible Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events (MICE). With flexible indoor and outdoor event spaces, the resort accommodates a range of needs, including wheelchair-accessible layouts, assistive technologies, and tailored catering options.
All conference rooms are equipped with a hearing loop system to support guests with hearing impairments, ensuring that inclusivity remains a priority for corporate retreats and large-scale conferences alike.
A legacy of inclusion
“We continually strive to improve and innovate, ensuring that our resort remains a place where everyone can create unforgettable memories, regardless of their abilities,” said Ms Rutene. “By embracing accessibility and inclusivity, Elements of Byron is setting a new benchmark in luxury hospitality, proving that true relaxation and connection should be accessible to all.”
