Courtyard by Marriott® debuts in Northern Territory

Courtyard by Marriott Darwin is designed to empower the modern traveller.

Courtyard by Marriott®, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s global portfolio of over 30 extraordinary hotel brands, has celebrated the opening of Courtyard by Marriott Darwin, marking the brand’s entry in Australia’s Northern Territory.

The opening of the 186-key property, marking Marriott International’s inaugural property in Darwin via a conversion, is managed by Trilogy Hotels and owned by Darwin’s own DCOH, led by Managing Director and CEO Shane Dignan.

The opening follows the completion of the first phase of an extensive multi-phase renovation, with the hotel’s design blending Darwin’s urban fabric and culture with the enjoyment of modern comforts, combining functionality and comfort to suit both business and leisure travellers.

The newest enhancements include a revitalised lobby featuring innovative self-check-in technology, and a modern interior design and all new furnishings offering guests a comfortable communal area to work or relax. The fitness centre has undergone a full renovation now featuring state-of-the-art equipment complete with sweeping views of Darwin city.

Our goal is to continue expanding in places that inspire, connect, and meet the evolving needs of our valued guests”, he added.

Hotel guests and Darwin locals alike will be able to dine at a new all-day dining venue, , offering modern Australian dining with Asian inspiration, and a hyper-local twist to be revealed. Seating up to 100 guests, the venue design is inspired by the tropical local surroundings and will also offer a bar menu featuring local beer, wines, and cocktails featuring the botanicals of the Northern Territory. The new restaurant is expected to open in early 2026.

Future renovation plans also include refurbished guestrooms, to be equipped with modern features aimed to surprise and delight the most discerning of travellers, with the brand’s focus on thoughtful design, complete with plush bedding and flexible workspaces. Along with a swimming pool upgrade, the final phase of the hotel transformation is set for full completion in 2027.
