Sun Orchid Lounge launches at Amora Adelaide

A new chapter has begun for one of South Australia’s most iconic hospitality destinations, with the launch of the Sun Orchid Lounge at Amora Adelaide – a glamorous new cocktail and entertainment destination where heritage, theatre and contemporary luxury come together.

‘Where Memories Bloom’ is the lounge’s signature brand promise, inspired by South Australia’s rare and endangered Sun Orchid and reflecting Amora Adelaide’s philosophy of creating meaningful moments through exceptional design, personalised service and genuine hospitality.

At the centre of the new lounge is a spectacular four-metre-tall sculptural Sun Orchid, an elegant curved light installation inspired by the flower’s natural rhythm of opening and closing with the warmth of the sun.

From 5.00pm until midnight, the installation comes alive at five minutes past every hour, performing a five-minute choreographed sequence of light and movement. The theatrical ritual creates a captivating moment for guests to pause, connect and celebrate, establishing a signature experience unique to Amora Adelaide.

Positioned beneath the hotel’s iconic grand staircase, the Sun Orchid Lounge also pays tribute to the venue’s rich history. For generations, the staircase has provided the backdrop for weddings, milestone celebrations and significant South Australian occasions. The new lounge brings that legacy into a contemporary setting, reinforcing Amora Adelaide’s position as a destination for exceptional hospitality and memorable experiences.

The reimagined space offers a dramatic new arrival experience, with a grand piano, live music, curated South Australian wines, handcrafted cocktails and sophisticated culinary offerings creating an immersive centre-stage destination.

The cocktail menu continues the botanical inspiration, featuring the Sun Orchid Martini, Amora Adelaide Bloom Spritz, a Native Gin & Tonic Collection and a selection of botanical-inspired cocktails.

The Amora Martini includes olive leaf gin combined with a house-made citrus and herbal vermouth into something that anyone and everyone can enjoy.

Sun Orchid is a bright, fresh tropical cocktail focusing on SA producers with a Thai influence. Local and Australian Gins, combining mandarin, yuzu, pineapple, coconut and lemongrass into something truly delightful and representative of our Sun Orchid lounge.
