The updated 24-Hour Economy Strategy builds on the foundation laid in 2020, with a refreshed focus on supporting night-time workers, promoting First Nations storytelling, and enhancing sustainability within night-time precincts.
Among the initiatives, the internationally recognised “Purple Flag” accreditation programme will be expanded, recognising night-time districts that meet excellence in vibrancy, diversity, and safety. Meanwhile, upcoming Vibrancy Reforms will reduce red tape, providing more opportunities for special events and live music venues.
The Live Performance Venue Accelerator Programme is also set to launch, transforming hospitality venues into live performance spaces through skill-building workshops.
Additionally, the Uptown District Acceleration Programme will empower business communities across Greater Sydney to transform their districts into vibrant night-time destinations.
This new strategy marks a significant step in energising NSW’s night-time economy, fostering cultural and economic growth statewide.
