The key to serenity

At night in Maroochydore you will see a brightly lit beachfront apartment block surrounded by palm trees. This is Key Largo, owned by Victoria tourism experts Cas and Bear Rawlinson.

Maroochydore is known for its variety in beachfront complexes. Key Largo stands alone in its ability to offer not just a variety of services but a variety of amenities as well.

Key Largo possesses one, two and three-bedroom fully self-contained apartments with northerly aspect. It is also walking distance to shops, restaurants and public transport as well as the beautiful beach. There are ocean views from large balconies and courtyards as well as large kitchens, laundry facilities and a state of the art pool, spa and sauna.

The apartment interiors are decked out with digital LCD TVs, Foxtel, air conditioning and ceiling fans as well as a direct dial phone and guest lines which take you to their on-site management. Kids are easily entertained while parents relax and unwind by the swimming pool.

Key Largo’s real claim to fame is the fact that they were one of the first on the coast to implement LED sensor lighting in the basements. This was a new cost saving method envisioned for accommodation buildings that has helped Key Largo to stay ahead of the game and keep customer safety top priority. Key Largo also has free underground parking as well as an intercom system so travellers may stay relaxed and worry-free during their stay; though it’s not as if they would need to worry, in and around the famously crime-free Sunshine Coast.

The experienced and talented management team consists of Cas and Bear Rawlinson. For them, management rights had been a dream of their’s for a long time. According to Bear, he was a commercial fisherman for many years, branching into getting Peninsula Seafood transport (the car ferry) in Victoria up and running and remaining there for 26 years as master.

Cas also worked for the firm for 14 years in the office, which is where they met. Together they rack up 40 years in the tourism industry. This naturally progressed to an interest in management rights and they eventually made the move interstate, changing their entire lives. Cas and Bear say the move was difficult at first but, with help from the previous managers Des and Carol Robbins, made their transition as seamless as possible.

Together the Rawlinson’s are a reliable team with enough experience to help their guests and recruit a roster of long-term staff that gels together like family. The cleaners in particular are popular among guests, with the 11-year strong housekeeper often asked for by returning guests.

The Rawlinson’s provide value for money and a friendly welcoming service imbued with the joy they feel while living their dream. Sometimes in life you need to drop everything and make a big change. But if there is any advice Bear and Cas like to give, it is, “Don’t change anything until you have had a chance to settle in and get your feet on the ground.”

This kind of stability is what Key Largo has become known for amongst consumers.

But does this pay off? Bear and Cas have been reaping the rewards from their excellent service and abundance of amenities and features. In their brief time at Key Largo they have been presented with enough “wine, chocolates and thank you cards” to know they are settling in just fine.
